My first waterfall drawing. Getting better at landscapes.

Hi. Thanks for the videos. I did the first waterfall also but this turned out much better. The trees on the left are still not leafy enough. Still looks a little like lumpy hills.
I grabbed pastel paper. I draw very slowly, over think everything….
Thanks, Scott! I’m practicing with charcoal in between sessions. Hope to get better at it. I find charcoal behaves more like painting than drawing… But again, maybe I’m way off 🙂
Hi Scott, here is my piece. I got scared when I first saw the picture. Did not think I can do it, because looked so complex. Anyway, thanks to you it was not as difficult as I originally thought.

I don’t have charcoal, so used graphite. I am brand new to art after retiring a couple of years ago. So much to learn. Thank you for doing this.

Nice work! It’s interesting to see how this cropping affects the landscape. I like the way the waterfall exits the composition at the bottom of the page.

Merci Scott for guiding us through what for me proved difficult. Used Staedtler Mars Luminograph 2 B and 5B, maleable eraser, chiffon cloth and blending stump, on DeSerres Fabriano mix media acid free paper. Tried to create some mist at foot and above the falls, but didn’t get it. Next time!
I didn’t leave enough space for the pool under the falls. I had fun with the trees on the right. So here it is.
I reposted it because the photo above was blurry at the right side. I used gray toned paper and white charcoal for the flowing water.

I don’t know how to use charcoal very well, but I love graphite so, I did it in graphite on white paper. I know it’s against the rules, but it worked for me. I’m not much of a landscape fan, but it’s all wonderful! Thanks, Scott!
